Smart Villages Initiative
The Smart Villages initiative is the epitome of Kilkenny LEADER Partnership’s focus to explore innovative ways to develop new opportunities which would improve the economic, social, and cultural quality of life for the people, communities and small enterprises in the county.
Community-Based Wellbeing Programmes
A growing theme in SICAP’s wellbeing strategy has been the use of nature and the outdoors to support physical and emotional health. This began in 2024 with “Wellbeing by the Water” in Freshford — an initiative that introduced participants to the therapeutic potential of being near water. Several clients have since progressed to swimming lessons and reported significant improvements in their confidence and enjoyment of physical activity.
Global Kitchen
Each year, Kilkenny LEADER Partnership hosts a Global Kitchen as part of the Savour Kilkenny food festival, engaging migrant food producers and introducing new tastes and flavours to festival-goers.
