Get Started in the Kitchen
The “Get Started in the Kitchen” course, organised by NEWKD in conjunction with MTU Kerry and Rural Food Skillnet, exemplifies how community initiatives can significantly impact individuals’ lives. This course targets individuals who have been long-term unemployed or have had negative educational experiences, allowing them to explore a new career area and acquire new skills.
Supporting Social Enterprise
NEWKD support social enterprises like Foodshare Kerry, to develop, grow and scale in the community by providing funding, mentoring, governance support and capacity building. Therefore ensuring these social enterprises continue to serve those most marginalised in the community.
Connection with Others
An intercultural concert celebrating Irish and Ukrainian Christmas traditions. NEKWD promotes several intercultural events in response to the need for Ukrainians to connect with each other and the need for increased cultural understanding between Ukrainians and Irish.
