Partners

Partnership and collaboration are the cornerstones of our Local Development Companies Network. We have established strong working relationships with key government departments, statutory agencies, local partners, philanthropic bodies and European partners.

Our members implement significant programmes on behalf of the Government Departments of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht and Social Protection. These include SICAP, LEADER and the Tús Initiative.

Working with statutory agencies, we have developed strong links with the Health Service Executive (HSE), Fáilte Ireland, Údarás na Gaeltachta, National Parks, Sport Ireland & Wildlife Service (NPWS) to name a few.

We have an unrivalled reach in local communities, and at local level, our members work in partnership with local authorities, local enterprise offices, sports partnerships, education and training boards, and family resource centres for example.

More recently, our members are actively engaged with philanthropic bodies.

As a small island nation, we are outward looking and engage heavily at European level. LDCN is represented on ELARD (European LEADER Association for Rural Development) and we proactively promote the Rural Pact in Ireland. In addition, we have networks throughout several key European Directorate-Generals such as DG Regio, DG Env, DG Agri, DG Social Affairs, and the EU Network.
